cron setting help

I hv just purchased v. 2.1.03. I hv set up the cron as per below link.

Where it shows: {full_path_to_script} I have set to: /usr/local/lib/php

I get an email stating: /bin/sh: /usr/local/lib/php: is a directory

Email does not show any thing else.

The full string in my cron is set as follows:
/usr/local/lib/php -f /home/domain/public_html/domain/includes/cron.php

Can someone advise what I'm doing wrong please.

Ok I got my provider to give me the path: /usr/lib/php. So I hv it like this:
"/usr/lib/php -f /home/domain/public_html/domain/includes/cron.php"

I getting the same error as this link:

Has anyone sorted out the problem with the cronjob???, i get an error also
"<PRE>2006: MySQL server has gone away</PRE>Error occured.", and now, i get this message "Error occured. Please see the logs or report an error to the administrator"

I am having same problem too, cron emails keep sending me below error.

Error: MySQL server has gone away
UPDATE `v21_links` SET `link_header` = '301',`pagerank` = '-1',`last_check_date` = NOW(), `cron_cycle`='1' WHERE `id` = 309

Hi Admin,

this is smart article. however my drawback is my script runs fine after I execute it manually. however after I schedule it via Cron Tab, then script isn't obtaining executed fully. for instance. it's not sending FTP and it's not sending a mail by zipping too.
