The default version upgrade fee is $50 (from 2.3.05 to 2.4).

The default version of eSyndiCat PRO means the standard graphical template (skin) is used with eSyndiCat PRO version and no custom modifications were applied to the standard script code or template.

In case your eSyndiCat PRO copy uses non-standard (custom made) template or some custom programming modifications were applied to the source code you should contact us for a quote.

of eSyndiCat (v1.7 Cushy) is Free, you only need to pay for the domain license.

Our techies will move all your data from the free version to paid for FREE.

We do not support versions below 2.3.X (e.g. 2.1.X, 2.2.X).

The 2.3 version was almost completely refactored and it’s definetely hard to upgrade all the plugins also.

Many upgrade things should be done manually and, of course, it takes much time.

Thus the upgrade cost from older versions to 2.3.x version is higher than a standard cost.

Currently it’s $90.

As you know we put a lot of efforts in our 3.x version and the releases cycle is pretty fast. We try to release a new patch at least once a month. We try to combine all your reports in a patch as well as re-factored lines of code. So here is the detailed (I hope) instruction how to apply patches for 3.0.x version.

1. You should always backup your files & database. That's the guarantee you can revert your site back if anything goes the wrong way.
2. Download the correct patch for your website version. Please note you should apply patch version by version. You MAY NOT apply 3.0.6 patch on your 3.0.4 version directly. You need to perform upgrade to 3.0.5 and then apply 3.0.6 version patch. You can find the appropriate patch on Misc section of the Downloads Area at esyndicat.com
3. Unpack it locally and upload all the files in upload folder to your real website.
4. Go to Admin Panel -> Manage Database -> Import and run the appropriate sql upgrade file there.
5. You need to clear your browser & script cache.

Note: we include install/modules/module.install.php file in every patch so you could be able to reinstall the version from scratch. You should remove it if you don't really need it and don't have plans to reinstall the version again.

Instructions for upgrade from 2.5.0 version to 3.0:

First of all please create a backup of your current files and database!

1) Install the latest available version of the eSyndiCat Directory script (3.0.4 on 25th, April 2013) to the subdirectory or to the subdomain of your 2.5.0 version(we choose this way to test the upgraded version before it will be migrated the the real site.).

For example, if you have the directory of 2.5.0 version with URL: directory.com , your latest version should have the URL: directory.com/v304   (here /v304 is subdirectory). Also it will be the best to use your old DataBase (which you use for 2.5.0 version). You just need to check that prefix of 2.5.0 version tables and prefix of 3.0.x version differs.

2) Go to Admin Panel(of the latest version)-> Quick Jump to-> Importer-> Choose Importer (esyndicat_2.5.0) -> Use same DB-> type your database prefix(which is used in 2.5.0 version) -> Connect-> Choose tables for import one by one ->Import

3) go to Admin Panel(of the latest version)-> Manage DataBase-> Check Consistency-> click on every link (RECOUNT, REPAIR...)

4) Check your upgraded version (if the listings, categories, accounts etc. migrated).

5) Now you need to move the latest version from the subdirectory to the ROOT(instead of directory of 2.5.0 version). How to do it you can read here:

NOTE. This Migrator kit is suitable only for default version tables without any additional fields or plugins. This kit can migrate only following tables: account, admins, blocks, categories, categories_clicks, crossed, related, listings, listing_clicks, deep_links, listing_categories, plans, plan_categories, transactions.

Thus, this kit doesn't migrate pages, languages, plugins.

To update plugins you should adhere to the following steps:

1)      Log into your eSyndiCat account. Go to Downloads section. Choose Plugins tab there.

2)      Select your eSyndiCat version from the drop-down list.

3)      Select the plugins you want to update (mark the appropriate checkboxes) and press the Download button.


4)      Once the download process is completed you should have the file with a name like eSyndiCat_plugins_EF9915A71FED110.zip.
 
        Unzip this file and upload the content of the /upload/plugins folder to /plugins folder located on your web server. (This will overwrite the old plugin files as needed)

        We encourage you to use FTP protocol to upload the plugins related files to your server.


5)      After the plugins related files are uploaded you may go to your eSyndiCat Admin Panel and see the newly uploaded plugins are displayed in the Manage Plugins section.

6)      To update recently uploaded plugin you should press the Upgrade button next to plugin name.

7)      Once the chosen plugin(s) is(are) updated you will see the message with the green flag: Plugin successfully updated.

8)      You are done!

To upgrade eSyndiCat Pro from 2.3.02 version to 2.3.03 please follow the steps listed below:

1. Download patch and unpack it

2. Upload files from updates/ directory to your updates/ directory

There are two files in that directory:
pre_upgrade_2.3.02_2.3.03.sql
post_upgrade_2.3.02_2.3.03.sql

3. Go to admin panel -> Manage Database -> Import. Import pre_upgrade_2.3.02_2.3.03 file

4. Upload all the files from patch to your working copy

5. Run post_upgrade_2.3.02_2.3.03 update script using Admin Panel -> Manage Database -> Import functionality

That's all. Your patch should be successfully applied.

Upgrade instructions:

1) Download patch

3) Upload all the files from patch to your working copy

4) Go to admin panel -> Manage Database -> Import. Import upgrade_2.3.03_2.3.04 file)

          If you have custom modifications applied to your copy of eSyndiCat, please do not apply these instructions, otherwise you risk to lose all your modification.

3) Upload all the files from patch to your working copy.

You can find the latest upgrade script in the version of eSyndiCat you have downloaded from www.esyndicat.com (it's located in /includes/imports/ folder).

You should unzip and upload it to includes/imports/ folder on your web server.

NOTE: Before importing create a backup of your 2.2.06 database


Database setting:

During the installation of 2.3.XX version please use the same database and credentials as for the old one.

In other words please install the new version of the script to the old database using the same (old) database user and database password.

Step by step instructions:

 1) Install the 2.3.XX Stable version

 2) Go to admin panel of 2.3.XX version

 3) Go to "Importer" section. (You can find link in the "Quick Jump To" menu)

 4) Choose 2.3.XX version in dropdown

 5) Enter MySQL database information where installed the 2.2.06 version

 6) Click "Import"

 7) Go to "Manage Database" -> "Check Consistency"

 8) Click "CATEGORIES RELATION: REPAIR" and "ACTIVE LISTINGS COUNT: RECOUNT"

 9) You are done!
