We updated our website on 3rd, April and we are happy to introduce one significant feature. It's the possibility to upload your own plugins, templates, or languages and share them with the rest members of our website. You can set a price for them and sell through our website so you get instant immediate access to the thousands of webmasters using eSyndiCat directory software. Sounds good, doesn't it?

So what steps do you need to take to release any of addons?

1. Login to esyndicat.com under using your account
2. Click My Account in the Account Menu
3. Switch your Account Type. You should choose the following option: 'I will release my own addons here and want to sell them through the website'
4. You must fill in your paypal email. We will use this email account to send the money for your sales.

Once you click Save Changes you should click Manage Products menu item and make sure if you really have a software license as you are not allowed to release Pro version addons without a software license.

On Manage Products page you can see a new element in Account Menu - Manage Addons. You can click it - it's the page where you manage all your information about your released addons, sales, and payments.

How to pack your custom addon?

As we have mentioned you are allowed to release templates, plugins, and languages. Here are the detailed instructions how to prepare your files for release.

Languages

eSyndiCat software exports language files in MySQL with the .sql extension. You should pack your sql file using any ZIP archive program. Your language file should be named as Language_esyndicatversion.zip, no dots allowed.

Examples:

Dutch_2305.zip, Russian_24.zip, Chinese_17.zip, Polish_2401.zip

SQL file inside should have the same name, except extension. So you must have Dutch_2305.sql inside Dutch_2305.zip archive, etc.

Templates

In order to prepare esyndicat template you need to pack your template folder. You've created a custom with the name 'examplesite', so you need to create  new zip file and it should contain folder 'examplesite' inside and it should contain tpl files. Please pay attention to your info/install.xml file content as it's used for template installation and display on our website. It should contain correct information.

Plugins

Plugins should be packed using the following conventions:

{pluginname}_v{pluginversion}_{releasedate format MM.DD.YY}.zip

You should put plugin folder inside this package.

Below you can find some examples:

testplugin_v1.0_04.03.12.zip contains folder testplugin

alertpay_v2.3_03.29.12.zip contains folder alertpay

Please pay attention to the plugin XML file. It should contain correct information.

Payments

You can set a price for your released addon and sell it through our website. Once you have a sale you can see it in your Manage Addons -> Financial Info section at esyndicat.com website. We will make payouts monthly. The eSyndiCat Team takes 20% comission of each sale. The funds are sent to your paypal email.

We often have requests to change a domain license that is assigned for a license. It's a paid service since 2009 and it costs symbolic $20. We discussed this issue many times in the forums and you can find more information there. 

Anyway, below you can find the detailed instructions how to change your license domain name.

1. Login to esyndicat.com

2. Click Manage Products

3. Find your domain name and click Change 

4. An invoice will be generated for you and you can see a button Pay

5. Click Pay and follow the instructions.

Once you pay the invoice you will be able to change your domain name. 

Please note the fee is not required if you made a typo, or switch your .com to .net, .info, etc. domain. The payment isn't required for non established domains that never used the software.

As you probably know we used to provide lifetime support & upgrades to our customers according to our license terms. This is valid for all our paid customers who bought the software before 1st January, 2012. Starting from this date our license terms are different, and all our subscribers were informed about this via newsletter. Anyway, these changes don't affect the customers who bought the software prior the upgrades policy changes. They still have lifetime access to all our upgrades and support.

It's very important not to interpret the FREE UPGRADES term as an upgrade service from our team. It does not mean our team will install all the future updates on your websites, it only gives the right to download all the updates within the upgrades period. Expired License

So, how do we understand if your license is still valid? You can see this information in your esyndicat.com account area. Please login to esyndicat.com using your licensed account and click Download. On the right panel you will see an orange box with the license information.
